New Apps For Old – Full Circle Motivation Announces Its New Conference App DAX And Reviews A New Competitive Offering, Topi

“Before the conference App, meeting attendees were subjected to an armful of event agendas and speaker notes and often struggled to get to the right workshop at the right time, claims Victor Tardieu of Full Circle Motivation.  And with precious little time for networking, events were a challenge when all delegates had to go on was a person’s name badge and a location map on a notice board.”

DAX (delegate app experience) the new mobile App for conferences changes all that – it’s a fun way of connecting the business message and the delegate. This new leading edge tool for engaging conference attendees also provides unprecedented business intelligence to organisers. From the point of registration, conference audiences can be better and more consistently informed. Currently optimised for iPad, user interfaces can be added for all major Smartphones, tablets and the traditional web.

With a range of new features, the conference App puts information and interaction directly into the delegate’s hands. Further, the App is a dynamic educational, communication and marketing tool providing:

  • Company branded home page
  • Pre-event educational questionnaires and games
  • Agenda and speaker notes
  • Venue information incl. floor plans
  • Biographies – Speaker, Guest, Delegate, Management
  • Speaker presentations pushed to delegates’ iPads
  • Live Q&A, ensuring that management get the answers they need and delegates are educated and kept in the know
  • Voting
  • Text alerts
  • Notes pad
  • Messaging peer-to-peer
  • Delegate feedback for management
  • Post event analysis report for management
  • Scanning QR codes on delegates’ name badges to get contact and company / product  information
  • and so much more depending on the client requirement.

This new conference App is not just for conference attendees. Exhibitors and suppliers need to be kept informed too. Mobile Apps help exhibitors and suppliers connect with attendees through branding, messaging and meeting scheduling.

The alternative approach to the conference App is exemplified by Topi, a networking mobile App which can be installed free on Android devices, iPads and iPhones (however, planners pay a fee).

The idea was developed by David Aubespin, because of his own frustrations at conferences. As he puts it: “Networking is a very important thing. But it always seemed like it was too much left up to chance.” Topi aims to take the randomness away and bring people together in an intuitive way by helping them identify like-minded peers at a conference. Planners get benefits, too: via Topi’s website, they can use it to communicate instantly with attendees, sharing information with them like speaker notes or changes to the agenda.

Brilliantly, the app can draw a digital perimeter around an event, even when attendees are participating from remote locations, by deploying sophisticated geo-fencing technology. Once attendees are identified, provided they’re within the digital perimeters, they can discuss topics, access files uploaded for the event and, above all network with each other.

The humble chat room is the basis for the user interface: attendees simply log in to Topi via Facebook (it also links to other major social networks like Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram etc). Then the magic happens: The mobile App uses the information on those social networks to create virtual groups based on common interests or experiences amongst the attendees.

The conference environment has just got a lot smarter.
